I got Dragon Age origins for PC for super cheap at a thrift store but when I run the installer it asks for a code, so I put in the 20-digit code that's inside the case but it says it's invalid. Is it because I have a used copy, so the code can't be used more than once, or is there some way I could fix this? I tried installing DirectX like you did but that didn't solve my issue. Of course I could just buy the game on Steam for 30 dollars or whatever it costs, but I was really excited to find this copy for just 2.

Thanks, what I did is Run the game from the correct Steam account in case you have many and are Logged in in the one who doesn't have the game. If that doesn't work try Reinstalling also repair the EA app, if you haven't played since months. Yes also Updating drivers from your Graphic card, like Nvdea, drivers.
