Intervals On Guitar Fretboard Diagram: Tutorial & Why To Learn Them
Показать описание
Intervals explained on guitar using fretboard diagrams: Root, b2nd, 2nd, b3rd, major 3rd, 4th, sharp 4th (flat 5th), perfect 5th, b6th, major 7th, b7th and octave. All listed out and played with usable stretches. After we explore all of these spaces between the notes on the E, A, D and G strings we touch on more practical uses: improvising over a chord, targeting notes and part writing. Using Hellagood by No Doubt as an example and then utilizing open strings to show how this knowledge can add a new layer to your song writing and general creativity.
It can seem like a daunting task, but learning the intervals like this has the potential to really open up your playing. It highlights that only a few possible routes make sense, which cuts down on that mid-solo panic of "where do I go now!?!?!" while also, somewhat paradoxically giving you more options or little paths to get from A to B.

*If the card at 9:47 is missing; the lesson is still being edited, I'll add it in when that lesson is live :)
I toyed with flipping the scale diagram to match my guitar, but thought having an image that more closely resembles what you see would be more beneficial, and it is also the standard view for it- let me know if I was wrong about this though, haha!
Also, seemed to miss out the Maj 7 on the A string; sorry about that, although the fret board diagram is still there, so not a total blowout!
