Learning the fretboard may seem like a daunting task for most beginners, but it's actually quite an easy process that takes as little as 5 minutes everyday. There's a big difference when it comes to knowing the fretboard vs internalising the fretboard and in this video I'll teach you how to do both. In my opinion, knowing the fretboard is crucial for any guitarist out there. Internalising the fretboard isn't mandatory, however I believe it opens up a whole world of possibilities for improvising and navigating the neck and would highly encourage every guitarist to commit to internalising the fretboard.

Best video on the whole of youtube if you are an absolute beginner who knows nothing in a guitar. First step for any beginner is to keep grinding whatever is said in this video for 2 hours every single day for at least 5 months before learning any chords or strumming patterns. Believe me guys, I have experienced it myself. I knew nothing about guitar 5 months back and now through constant practice of whatever this genius has said in this video, I can say that I am in a stage where I don’t have to count on the fretboard anymore to play any musical note in any fret and in any string. What that helps me achieve is, I can easily play any song on any octave. This is the bible of guitar, the ultimate tutorial one can ever make. Thanks a ton buddy for this video. I wish I could meet you in real life, I would love to give you a hug for your amazing contribution towards my learning and understanding of the guitar! I just started to play guitar and felt that I should master/internalize the fretboard before I waste time on anything else. I searched far and wide, and found many courses for $25, $30, $40 or so. This video encapsulated everything necessary in a short time, and probably some extra tips not mentioned in the commercial courses! Definitely worth supporting this channel for the other lessons and material.

BTW, I never noticed the two dots on the octave fret before. That does make things a lot easier! :)

I learned to play the guitar in August 2018 thanks to your videos. But I was lazy and I only focused on a few easy chords that pretty much every song has. Never learned to play the power chords or the barre chords or the notes on the fretboard. Never learned a fingerpicked song. And because of these, I was embarrassed to say that I could play the guitar. All I did was strum chords. This video has exactly what I need to really learn to play the guitar. So thank you. Hopefully, I won't get lazy and I'll be able to say that I can play the guitar by the end of August this year.
