Trading 212, a commission free investment platform (one that I use for my own personal investment portfolio with) has recently announced some new updates to the Trading 212 app which affects Trading 212 Invest account users. As I showcase Trading 212 so frequently on the channel in today’s video i’ve partnered up with Trading 212 to highlight the latest share lending update, which allows you to lend out the shares that you own in return for a fee. It potentially sounds scary on the surface, but let me break down the details for you!

Hi guys, what’s your thoughts on the share lending options on Trading 212?

Luckily shares in the ISA account aren't lent out

Had one stock in particular that for a period suffered big style at the hands of short selling. . Share price suffered accordingly and still never recovered to the price it was before the short sellers got stuck in. Definitely not something to be seen in a positive light if someone wants to borrow your shares

How can I choose a share to lend. For example I want to lend argo blockchain, do I just click on it and it will only lend that particular shares? I want to lend out some of my shares but I'm not sure which icon to click on to lend that particular shares.

For long term investing which hopefully most people are doing I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Unfortunately I only invest via an ISA which I believe this isn’t applicable

So if I've got this right, if someone wants to borrow, there's a strong chance my shares are likely to fall in value ?

Can you share a particular share and not all your shares?

Lending your shares to someone without any risk is simply not true.
I would be wary that my shares were being used to manipulate a market run.
