You shouldn’t feel bad about not being with your first wife when she died. I lost two husbands to lung cancer. My first husband was a high school sweetheart, we had 25 years together before he died I spent almost every waking hour with him. Got to know the janitors at the hospital on a first name base. The day he died he wanted some citrus drink I didn’t have. I went to the store and bought it and a few other things. Immediately I took him the drink he wanted and we talked while he drank it, no indication he was going to die at that time. I said I had to put the food I bought in the fridge, was gone for 10 minutes and he died. My second husband died in the middle of the night alone in the bathroom. I have heard from doctors and from therapists that most people prefer to die away from loved ones not wanting to bring more grief to them. I alway said “love you” when I would leave the room unless he was sleeping, would say it to myself. I always wanted that to be the last thing they heard from me. death always hurts, even though you expect it, when it happens it seems unreel, impossible that you’re alone. Enjoy every day you have with those you love. My thoughts will be with you.

I work with Stanley Tuccis daughter Camilla Tucci at a fine dining Restaurant here in Boise Idaho. Had no clue she was his daughter until a few months after I started my job. She is a genuine human being who misses her mother and does not care about the spot light and fame.
