Nighthold In-game Cinematic Finale

Re-live the moment when Gul'dan was struck down in the Nighthold raid.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Illidan didn’t engage in any cheesy or cringy banter with Gul’dan. He just straights up chokes and disenchanted him, wasting no time.

I love that he dies the same way as Varian, but unlike Varian who faced his death with honour and his principles intact, Guldan died broken and fearful.

I never thought Gul'dan was ever a complex character, but I'm impressed with the look of utter defeat spread across his face.

The best part for me about this cinematic are the small shifts of the facial expression.
You can see so much of the inner thoughts and feelings going through Gul'Dan's mind at 0:44 (right before the frame moves to a close-up) to 0:48.
After failing on the very last step of his long plan, we can see Gul'dan is completely devastated. He is not furious or crying, but instead hopeless, almost like his body and soul are completely exhausted and at their limit. He knows he has lost and he knows he's going to die at that moment when illidan's wings spread out behind him at 0:44. That's why he turns towards Illidan slowly and without fear. He knows it's hopeless and that his time has come.

I've watched this cinematic hundreds and hundreds of times farming the green infernal - and today I celebrate by watching it on youtube instead of in game. IT DROPPED FOR ME FINALLY. So long guldan, it has not been a pleasure.

Completing the Nighthold raid was a very emotional one for me, I'm glad the Alliance has gained vengeance on Gul'dan.

the despair and that he is left without purpose and disappointment when he fails and all this mess that occurred is amazing. It reminded me also the "Harbingers of Gul'Dan" where he found his destiny and was filled with purpose by the legion, and this is how eventually it ends
