It’s actually pretty insane how these are fully applicable to adults. With great success!

This shows outstanding patience and great parenting around kids and food. I wasn't nearly as good at this, but I modeled good eating behaviors. Layne always gives the best advice!

I like your approach, thanks for outlining it. Our’s is similar and simple—prioritize protein, limit added sugar, make homemade meals with mostly whole food ingredients, and eat as many meals as possible as a family. And most importantly, lead by example with my own nutrition.

we use the "eat the growing foods first." As an RD, this seems to work well, and saves me from losing my mind. Great content as always Doc

I used to be really hard on my little brother who I’ve basically helped raise on his eating. I did teach him a lot but I shamed him too. I realized after a while I was reflecting my insecurities about food on him. I’ve since healed my relationship on food, and he now is drinking protein shakes, lifting more, enjoying healthy food (while still enjoying the fun foods life has.)

Wise words and kind of the same way we did it with our kids. They all have a healthy relationship with food 👏👏👏

Going with anabolic cooking is amazing for kids. Make high protein, low calorie versions of pancakes, French toast, Brownies, cakes, protein puffs, fairlife milk. Options that allows them to still have the foods all kids like but instead of the high calorie versions, they're getting low calorie options.

Nice yes this is right on point exactly how my wife and I approach it with our kids. They have done an awesome job learning to regulate their eating just by listening to their body and we do the same thing...don't push anything just stress the importance of veggies, fruits, and especially protein, but then also praise them when they make a decision that they are full even if they are eating a cookie and they set it aside. It's really cool to watch. I don't want them to have to think about weight or food until they are an adult. It teaches them while still allowing them the freedom of just being a kid

I'm really glad I watched this. I have been teaching mine moderation. I have been a little guilty of labeling foods bad. I will definitely reword how I Describe these foods

In my training clientele, I am seeing a large increase in adolescents using 24 hour fasts, 1000+ calorie deficits, or simply not eating as way to “not be fat”. Specifically amongst young males aged 14-16.

I’m curious if the pandemic and isolation affected these kids developmentally as they would have been in those very formidable years of puberty and transfer to teenage hormones. It is challenging to tell youth athletes that some of the dieting and exercise content they find on social media isn’t always applicable to the developing brain and body of a teenager.

Nice p.o.v. regarding not having 2 stomachs, 1 for fun foods and 1 for healthy foods.

Do we know anything about kids and whey, casein protein supplements? Can they take them and when?

High protein options are so much better today than 20-30 years ago.

I like to track my kids macros not to restrict them but just so I know as a parent I'm providing them with sufficient nutrition for their developing bodies.

Make kids protein pudding. Sugar free jello, 2 scoops of your favorite protein and fairlife skim milk. I tell a lot of people to do this for their kids, then their kids just start making it themselves literally two steps and a blender that you need.

We do the same with our kids, love this
