Thanks to your taxi vlogs, I learned how to avoid getting scammed by the taxi drivers.

It's very rare to find an honest taxi in Manila. I'd say 98% percent of them are totally dishonest.

I arrived with my parents at Manila airport very late at night after an exhausting flight, and my parents got caught by one of these scams, horrible experience. Literally more than 10 times the normal price, and even if I told my parents I wasn’t ok with the guy, we went in the van.
They even have fake price papers to convince you it’s official.
Thanks for spreading awareness in order to avoid the experience we had

I use grab.
First time in manila i almost went in a van with another family and they wanted to charge me 3, 000 pesos. I got out. Then they wanted 2, 800 drop to 2, 000. I got my baggage and left

Great video Mr. B.... Yes you are right lots of scams run by the airport employees....When you get your bags don't go outside just turn left and walk about 75 meters and take the escalator upstairs to the departure turn left and walk about a 100 meters past the x-ray machines and turn left and there will be a line of white taxi dropping people off at the airport....You have to make sure they use the meter its about 160-180 to the Clipper

Good advice.cherrs for that!-
For airports, I always walk outside and away from any airport to catch a regular taxi in order to avoid the airport surcharge .

Nice one Brendan. Very good topic. Lots of people get taxi scammed at Ninoy airport. Sticking to the regulated taxis is the best option. Never trust the touts. I once got scammed for 700 pesos from Terminal 3 to Makati. Awful!

Shows that honesty is the best policy... He talked his way out of a tip... He is providing a service, not begging... I had a Cabby ask me for more money in Cebu City, coz I wanted to stop at a money exchange.... I told him that we had gone far enough, and had my GF flag down another cab right in front of him, no tip... Have a good day Amigo... The meter was running is fine, and that was his pay for stopping.... I wish I knew how to tell him Bugger off in Visayan.... Thanks for the vid....

Super helpful details of the type that the first-time tourist normally must learn the hard, painful way! Thank you for taking your time to educate us and help us avoid pain!

Thanks for all the tips and information on how to get taxis in manila. PAL terminal as soon as you get out from the arrival area there's a yellow cab office next to the arrival sign. You go in tell the customer service where you're going and they'll give you the rate right away and you pay it right there. They call their driver, you hop in and he'll drive you to your destination. If ever I'll use NAIA I will surely follow your advice. Very informative video, thanks B.

NICE ONE! I have been in and out of NAIA many times and it takes a while to learn what you have just shown here in a few minutes, travelling again there in a couple of days and this is a good refresher course, highly recommend this especially to any newbies to Manila / Philippines.

Brendan, wow, nothing much has changed with NAIA since 2012. This is great to see. I actually fell for one of those private car things back in July '12. Back then, I didn't even realize I was getting scammed. It's those exact same gray vans without A/C!

Everyone going to Manila need to see this because I didn’t know either and I payed 2000 for a 15min ride and the problem is that they seat right in front of the terminal. Grab taxi is safer. Too much scams in Manila, be very very careful.

Brendan, my asawa nephew went on a group trip to cebu. What they did was take the jeepney from baclaran to the terminal airport entrance then they walk to terminal(T2)2, fromT2 took the free shuttle service bus to naia 3 cebu pacific terminal on the way to cebu. coming back they took the free shuttle service bus from T3 to naia(T2)2 then they started to walk like 3/4 of a mile exiting the naia terminal and took a jeepney ride to baclaran. The key here is to get to baclaran from the airport terminal via jeepney ride(8pesos) then you can catch a "METERED TAXI " from roxas blvd to any destination in metro manila- makati, cubao, malate, QC, .. etc.. at "METERED TAXI RATE."

Good video, and glad you mentioned the heat. Everybody who visited Manila always complained about the heat. Even the local residents complain about the heat. One major reason why I left was because I was constantly sweating.

How many clipper rooms/single occupancy rooms did the hotel have? Are they very popular and in high demand?

I totally agree with you, because I almost got scammed last time I went home in October, when I asked where the car is they pointed across the street and was asking for 2500 pesos and I said hell nah!, lol! so beware travelers...👍👍👍

Cool room concept! I'll tell my Mrs about the hotel. Plus, I really really appreciate you pointing out all the red light districts wherever you go. That's genuinely fantastic customer service lol.

I've been offered a job in Makati, so that's good info to have!👍👌
