A charity shop find which doesn't include any electronics at all. This is a Euler's Disk and is a toy or educational demonstration model to show the dynamic system of a spinning disk.

Visually it's quite interesting, but I love the noise it makes.

You need a more solid/level surface for it to work longer/faster. That clattering is from skips and jumps caused by opposing vibrations on your table, which hinders the effect and slows it more quickly.
