I tried it, and it does work ! I reached out to 6 local dealerships around me that has listing price between $24K and up to $28K, 4 of them willing to meet $25K and below for the tax credit, only 1 willing to take the $4K off at the spot, the dealer ship has it 21' M3 with 12K mi personal used listed $27K, came down to $24.6K, I literally saved thousands of dollars. This is legit ! Thank you !!

The requirement to buy from a dealer really screws a private seller whose car doesn't qualify.

Excellent, excellent video. I’m dealing with a Mercedes dealership that hasn’t a clue or a desire to help me out with this. I am going to show them this and make them a final offer tomorrow. Thanks!!!

I've noticed many of the 2022 and 2023 RWD Model 3s on Dealer lots are former Hertz cars. I personally dont have a problem with a former rental, but a non-rental will definitely have less wear and tear on the interior and bumpers

This great video. I missed this video picking up my Model 3 last week. Luckily for me, the car started at 27k and I got them down to 24k before the EV rebate so I feel like I got great deal on my!

Hi there! I am thinking of buying from Tesla directly via their used cars. 3 main reasons: 1 is that the car is for sure had a thorough inspection by Tesla, 2 is a guarenteed full warranty for the 1st year, 3 is that they wont add on BS charges like most dealerships i went to do (tried buying a 2021 M3 a couple months ago and they wanted to add a $3000 "luxury charge") so im just paying what I see plus 2.5k for tag, title and dealer fee which is fair.
Despite this, can i still get it cheaper if i go buy it at the typical volkswagen, nissan etc dealer or should i stick with Teslas own Used department? I think the price difference (with 4k tax credits on both sides) is negligible considering i for sure wont get screwed if the Volkswagen down the street doesnt know how to properly inspect Teslas?

Right on time. I’m looking for a Tesla Model S or X for gig work and also have a family car. Stumbled on sellers comments about the 4k credit the found your video on exactly how to execute, clearly. Thanks so much, Congrats on yours! Hopefully I’ll be an owner soon been wanting one since 2013.

Something is really strange going on with Tesla, I was looking at a Model 3 highland, on their inventory page, it shows it has a $7500 lease credit available but they are not showing this on the "build your order" page. In additional once I customized my lease on the inventory M3 Highland, it shows me the final number with taxes per month, but nowhere does it mention it passed along the $7500 ev credit for the lease. I called Tesla, they said it's already included in the monthly payment, of course, no lease language confirm that. I suspect Tesla is NOT passing along the EV credit to the customers, even though they had a banner on the inventory page states it is eligible.

So the way I'm understanding this, the car can only have one owner (prior to the dealership). You have to find a Tesla (or another EV) that somebody was the sole owner, and they sold that car to the dealership, and they didn't already get a tax credit on it during their original ownership. And it has to be $25, 000 or less.

So if I understood correctly the credit can be used as a 4k discount for the customer (making it 21k before tax, fees etc.), but on the other hand guarantees the dealer the 4k in return just paid back from the IRS?

I haven’t had luck with a dealer willing to do this yet, but actively trying! What car website did you use for this video?

Congrats on the new car! I am not there Hybrid BUT not full blown all electric. That is a sweet deal though if that is your thing!

@thecarguyonline QUESTION: when the Time of Sale report was filled out, does the dealer immediately get notified of whether or not it was approved immediately at the time of sale? I want to ensure this doesn't take days because I am driving 7 hours to pick the car up and need to ensure dealer can certainly apply the discount at the time of sale?

Great video!

How would it work with a Tesla website order? If the vehicle is under 25k how do u apply the 4k towards the total price of the vehicle in the tesla website?

Is the listed price the same as the sale price? I found one listed at Chevy at 25k but they don’t want to honor the tax incentive because they say after taxes and dealer fees it’ll be over the mark

I’m gonna do this! I have one added piece to the transaction, my current car is about $5k in negative equity (not including the $4k tax credit) if the tax credit is applied and I trade them my car for a fair trade offer, I would still have $5k negative equity in my current car that’s 123k miles 2019…what do you suggest I do to take advantage of this so it can eat at least $4k of neg equity? Would they even consider a trade like this with the rebate tax credit? I’ve been contacting dealer and only a very few know about this rebate option I’ve been educating them. Any advice would help immensely- thank you!

My issue is that somehow dealers are applying this cresit and still selling the pretty close to 25k i mean, if cresit is for 25k max then apply that car should be the most 21k right? But dealers are selling this cars with credit applied at 24999. Also looks like every dealership is buying their EVs from hertz and selling them. Wich is veru hard for me to trust. I guess i will have to wait a little more. To get a EV. Thanks for vid.
