bass players/drummers are never envious of singers like lead guitarist's are.... yet they are the backbone of a band

I have been a Purple-Fan my whole life, but I can't explain what I feel, when I hear this version of "Space Truckin'". It's absolutely marvelous.

Saw this lineup in Kansas City in 1972 at the age of 15. I was dumbfounded.

This line up of Deep Purple was the best, they always sounded like the record even in concert. I saw them when I was 17 in 1973 after a bad acid trip I had 3 days earlier.

Dynamically this has to be one of the great rock performances. Try to imagine it today with the sound systems and lighting rigs. Everyone right at the top of their game. Paicey is a monster on this.

How has nobody commented yet that this is literally the best Strat advertisement you could imagine, Bro takes the piss out of that guitar for like 5 minutes whammy baring and throwing it around hitting its headstock multiple times against shit just to go back to soloing like nothing's ever happened and it fucking works

Ahhh As a person who grew up in this era and seen them twice, it's good to hear "Real" musicians playing "Real" instruments. And to the people who dislike this video can go back to their computer generated music and auto tuners.

I grew up as a teenager (I’m now 69) with the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, and off course Deep Purple. Those are/were musicians, today’s groups…well kiddies… listen and learn.

GENIOS!
SIDERAL, GALACTICA, ESTRATOSFERICA !

Heavy rock at his finest, improvisations all over the way, planet Jupiter and snake charmer, deep purple always know how to use classic stuff in compination with their hard/ heavy rock.
