The boys sounded magnificent yesterday at Pordenone; the performance was tight and out of this world. These guys are getting younger as time goes by and the constant smile on Gillan's face during the concert is something I would never forget as long as I'm around. That baby Simon is a great guitar player and The Perfect Fit for Purple, he knows when to play the original solos and when not to; that is an immense talent to do so in addition to his playing; moreover he is holding the rhythm tight which is something that has always been missing. He is an exceptional talent and probably the best guitarist that emerged on the last few years. Glover, Paice & Airey are (as always) top notch. I was over the moon when they played 'Anya' as I have never heard it live before, and Gillan singing 'Into the Fire' scared the hell out of me as it is quite a challenge but young Gillan did it. David Gilmour was right when he mentioned that as long as Gillan is singing Rock'n'Roll will never die.
