And it wasn't even record rain! The Sarasota area doubled in population in the last 20 years. New construction sites everywhere! Thousands of new homes and condos and businesses. Blame our Leaders, blame our Politicians! Changing farmland into residential! For the first time every, Bradenton Raceway and Dragstrip was flooded! Why? Because of new construction sites all around and Land Clearing for future sites! Start the Lawsuits!

From Honor rd. to Tuttle ave. and Fruitville to University rd. Developers from Cuba and Miami are buying up all the houses and shopping centers and only allowing Cuban people to move in. What's going on?

My relatives moved out of that area about 10 months ago.
Prayers for all those suffering through this.

Im telling the overdevelopment of celery fields was a very bad decision. This 400+ acre site is owned by Sarasota County and is the County’s primary flood mitigation zone. It is managed by the division of Storm Water and Sarasota County Parks & Recreation. The policians did this purposely in my opinion they love disaster money. Sarasotas drainage system used to be world class and now the town will probably flood every year
