Episode four of The Expanse sees the Donnager under attack from unknown forces.

Miller is on a wild goose chase.

Avasarala is in the dark.

The Expanse initially started as a roleplaying game the authors made, before deciding to make it into a novel series, and one of the original lads, had to move cities and quit the :D That was Shed, apparantly lol. That being said, I think it was a very effective way of saying that even people that we think are main characters aren't safe.

This episode and the next one really mark the end of the 'world building' and we start to see the stories coming together and the dots being connected. Strap in, it only kicks off in pace from here :)

Alot of people find this episode is the 'hook', if they get this far, they are in for the full journey

Slingshot clubs are where they use the gravity of the planets etc to propel their tiny ships to crazy speeds. The first ships used "torch" engines that were very inefficient, so slingshotting around the system was an efficient way to save fuel. Bigger, later ships use something called an Epstein Drive which is far more efficient. Torch style ships still exist however and slingshot racing is a thriving yet extremely dangerous underground sport.
