The little touch of the drive exhaust melting/warping a couple of pieces of the scaffolding and heating others orange-hot was outstanding.

The irony that the very ship meant to be a beacon of hope, peace and progress into the future became the largest weapons platform designed to go into battle.

The detail of the swarm of rocket drones that act as "tugs" is really cool. And the coolest thing is that it is plausible, logical and could possibly be applied in real life.
The hard science of this show is what makes it more delightful to watch.

This is my absolute favorite scene from the whole of the expanse
S seeing all those drone tugs move the ship around and get it ready to launch which is truly amazing It was like an opera everything in this place

1:30 Oh the irony of that statement... 1300 stellar systems worth of irony...

My only real regret in life is that I'll probably won't be around long enough to witness awesome stuff like this in real life.

I'm just now watching this show and was confused on why it was adrift in season 3. Why didn't the mormons contract to have it brought back? I didn't even realize it was abandoned until OPA went back to salvage it.

this is the most beautiful launch scene in all of scifi :) also, would it be okay for me to copy your fair use disclaimer text? i often explain fair use to people, but they don't even know the law exists - you have summarized beautifully here :)

Beautiful scene. I haven't been this impressed with sci-fi in a long time.

The only thing that beats this is watching SpaceX Falcon boosters land themselves. Precusors to the tugs in this scene.

Even if that was meant to be a private expedition ferrying, what were they, Mormons? It's sad that ship never got to go on it's journey.

Nauvoo starship visiting the inhabitants of the Sun? "“Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the moon?... When you inquire about the inhabitants of that sphere you find that the most learned are as ignorant in regard to them as the ignorant of their fellows. So it is in regard to the inhabitants of the sun. Do you think it is inhabited? I rather think it is. Do you think there is any life there? No question of it; it was not made in vain.” - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 13, p. 271

My son sent me this clip...I know nothing about this show, but as a member of the LDS Church of Jesus Christ, my heart was on fire as I saw that big, beautiful angel Moroni in space. This whole clip was thrilling. I must watch this now! Thank you for sharing.

Such a great scene! They even have the gantry getting orange hot and a few of the later tugs getting vaporized.

Morons and space never seems to work - just look at _Starship Troopers_ 😆
