Extra tip, I personally recommend using a stiff pair of actual denim jeans rather than anything stretchy. You can make it work with skinny jeans but plain old denim is so much easier to work with, especially if you’re a beginner. I’m about to try this so wish me luck lol. I just need to find my seam ripper

Precaution: This thing is not easy so dont ruin your jeans

i hand sewed this from a pair of denim shorts from target LOL
here are some precautions: after pinning the skirt (i used safety pins bc i didnt have sewing pins) TRY IT ON to make sure the fit isnt awkward
also would not recommend hand sewing it very much does not look professional

Tip: cut the jeans to near the length you want your skirt to be before you seam rip. It'll save you a lot of time. You just seam rip shorts that way

Seem ripping can be a lil faster if you cut the legs to your desired length first!
