Aftermarket engine mounts vs OEM engine mounts: Detailed side by side comparison

I compare aftermarket engine mounts vs OEM engine mounts in this video. I do a detailed side by side comparison of an OEM engine mount vs an aftermarket engine mount for the front motor mount (engine mount) on the 7th generation Honda Accord 2003 - 2007 4cyl or the K24A engine. This same mount is used in certain years of Honda cars with the K24A engine such as the Element and Odyssey. I cover what makes OEM mounts stand apart and why it is possible to suffer engine vibration from motor mounts especially when some aftermarket motor mounts are used. Aftermarket mounts do not give the same level of cushioning or dampening of engine vibrations.
Never get duped again if you are in places where you buy this in person.

You can’t tell how well a motor mount just by looking at it. You have to try it. Our shop has tried many different brands of aftermarket mounts and some are good for a short time, some are not good from the start. We found a decent brand from one of our suppliers but in truth, when it comes to motor mount, you should only buy dealer motor mounts.

Great videos ! Just found out my front is an aftermarket, which may be why I am getting vibrations mainly when in drive and stopped with the AC on.

I've also watched a lot of your other videos, thanks for uploading them ! :)

Great vid! I have a question: would you recommend AM or OEM engine mounts for a 2008 CR-V? It is shaking too much and the mechanic said the front mounts are broken and need replacement. But I've read that they still vibrate a lot after replacing them with AM, sometimes even more. I'll appreciate your thoughts and expertise 🤙

I'm impressed! the video is educative. From your explaination the OEM is hydraulic (which is the best option) while aftermarket is solid rubber. if i may get you right. kindly elaborate cos i'm facing issue with my honda civic 2006 passenger side engine mount which i replaced but the vibration hasn't stopped.

SO ... where do we buy real oem engine mounts that arent used? My 2008 Buick lacrosse super leaks power steering fluid and my mechanic said the motor is leaning causing the return line to lay on the exhaust pipe. New motor mounts at advance caust $150 each and I need 2. Since motor mounts only last 5 to 7 years I dont want to get used ones from the junkyard just to find they already bad or will be in a short time. I dont have alot to spend.

How about "anchor" brand vs OEM ford.
Big difference?

I know this is old but I have a question. I got my mounts changed with aftermarket mounts and my car is still jerking in reverse and drive. They’ve checked for anything else that could be wrong and nothing is. They’re saying I need OEM mounts. Is it possibly for after market mounts to not work?

So what would you recommend in the case where the OEM parts are discontinued and out of stock everywhere? Is there an aftermarket part that's, like, the _least_ bad? 87 Honda Civic base 1.5l

Video makes common sense better off using OEM parts doesn't matter if you pay $350 for one motor mount although after market good for somethings but timing chain or mounts stick with the original brand💯

Looks more like a fake knock-off not just an aftermarket.
