Bonus Tip: Shoot using a flat picture profile (like S-Log or Cine4) to help with any dynamic range issues you might have, this can often give you a couple of extra stops for a better looking image.

Hmmmm yeah..no. You only addressed the obvious. Yes when you're indoors it's easy to manipulate the scene to minimize dynamic range as you demonstrated. But I never shoot indoors. My tube is a travel channel. Hence, I get whacked by these incredible dynamic ranges especially when panning and doing a slow 360. I still have no clue how to resolve this. I could take a reading of my shadows and then my highlights but I'm not sure if they can be (somehow) bookmarked by the phone's video software so that those ranges can be adjusted just at the right moment when doing a 360 pan. Any videos you can suggest I look at?

Steve, do you use Filmic Pro Flat and Log functions? Would you explain a bit how to use them, flat the colors, to then pop them in post production? Is that advisable? Thank you
