Flipping Crazy Treasure Thrifting at Antique Vintage Extrav!

Finally made it! I've heard about the giant opportunities to find fun vintage and fine antiques at the giant show in Madison-Bouckville, New York, but it 's taken a gaggle of YouTube resellers to get me to go. This long-established annual antique event is new to me, and so are some of the people shopping alongside me!

We follow Sandi @myflippingvanlife4437 into the parking lot and into the Cider House, where many of the best antique dealers are assembled! From a fabulous French art deco lamp worth thousands to a museum-quality John Lessell Camark vase, this place is packed with incredible finds we've never seen. Beautiful bejeweled boudoir items from 1920s Czechoslovakia, an early Roseville lion jardiniere and stunning Imperial hanging hearts glass vases made long before their Fenton cousins are among the incredible offerings. Sandi picks up opalescent glass tie-backs and a great art glass paperweight, while I find bargains on 1950s restaurant ware, a good Buck Rogers style rocket bank and a neat early advertising match safe.

Encounters with New York YouTube stars in the vintage reselling field make for fun exchanges, as we meet Dom @PrimeTimeTreasureHunter and Jeremy @THETHRIFTINGTWINS for the first time! Dom gives us a good tip on comic book hunting, while Jeremy scores an unusual advertising souvenir ashtray that fuses 1950s Western Americana with traditional English blue-and-white transferware. We shop alongside each other as we complete our trip through the serious antique dealers' tents...but then it's time to hit the upper field and find some real bargains!

It's no surprise that we run into Jocelyn and Drew @CrazyLampLady by a table filled with MCM art glass, vivid 1950s art pottery and a host of other delights, and the ever-enlarging group moves on through another row of this colossal week-long antique event. We have a lot of ground to cover, and no hope of seeing it all--but we stop to enjoy sparkling jewelry, New York made furniture and folk art, and even snag a Sascha Brastoff MCM lighter on the way! There's so much that we promise another video with even more amazing things from this incredible show to come soon.

This is better than going to a museum, the history of all manner of things is so interesting, and I’m an artist growing up around lots of museums!

Pottery has always held my interest the most for collectibles, thank you so much for sharing the Lessell piece George, wow! I learn so much from watching your videos 2 or even 3 times. Once for enjoyment and then again to take notes and mental pictures so I can recognize the items on my own. Your wealth of knowledge is captivating. Thank you! 🦋❤️🦋
