It's 10 years since Guy Goma became a celebrity after he was mistaken for an internet expert and interviewed on BBC News TV.
The unemployed computer technician had been at the BBC for a job interview. But the graduate from the Congo gained worldwide attention after a mix-up saw him interviewed on air instead of Guy Kewney

Gonna repeat that:

He didn't get the job? He showed off quick thinking, a calm demeanour and handled a situation he was not even remotely prepared for.
Those are fantastic qualities. Madness.

BBC lost out.. He's adaptable, confident and good under pressure. I hope he now has a decent job and good life, he deserves it.

The man was able to compose himself in literally 3 seconds after being unexpectedly shoved into a position many people would consider a nightmare (live TV in front of millions), and was able to answer in a way that sounds like he’s done it a thousand times. The ways he said “actually…” and “exactly…” are hilariously chill. All that in what I assume is a second language. If he didn’t get the IT job I can’t believe they didn’t at least find some other position for him.

This guy saved BBC's ass by not embarrassing them live on TV and they still didn't have the decency to give him a shot at the position he was applying for.

He embodies how confidence can make a person seem knowledgable and sure of what he was communicating. Fake it til you make it. The fact that he was accurate in his prediction...well thats just icing on the cake. Well done Guy!

Man he totally deserves a spot for not making the news station look like a fool

He's such a normal, down to earth, honest bloke. No wonder the BBC didn't hire him!

Unreal! To spare the interviewer looking ridiculous he just wings it, absolutely put on the spot and maintains composure. In a scenario where the overwhelming majority would lose their heads, he keeps himself together. He's a guy you want in your corner regardless of the situation. Class act

Guy Goma is now suing the BBC for loss of earnings. I hope he wins.

How dare he not get the job. I am outraged, this man deserves to be CEO for displaying that kind of bravery under pressure.

He was probably thinking "this is one of the most challenging job interviews I've experienced." The fact the BBC didn't give him a job speaks to their lack of flexibility. Guy showed immense composure under pressure, which is a great trait.

Pay this man what he's due. 5.4 million views and Guy didn't receive a penny ?

If anyone can demonstrate staying calm and collected under pressure it’s this ‘Guy’! 17 years on and it still makes me chuckle. He deserves royalties and rightfully receive it. 😁

Meanwhile, the real Guy Kewney is sat in a room next door wondering why he’s being questioned about his qualifications and skills😂

0:24 his facial reaction is priceless. Love how he continues answering the questions. What a legend.

If there’s an improvisation award for on stage performance this guy definitely deserves one.

What a legend, he took one for the team even though he wasn't part of the team
