I personally thinks buggys chop chop fruit would be pretty darn good for a swordsman. It would make it completely impossible to lose a sword fight unless he forfeits.

I think the best fruit for Zoro actually is the Tori-Tori no Mi Model Phoenix. Zoro is a really reckless melee fighter (swordsman) who is innevitably limited by the large amount of damage he sustains due to said recklessness. He manages to break through because of his immense stamina and durability, but so much damage must hinder his performance at minimum. But now imagine him not having to care about that because he can automatically heal himself while ALSO getting the benefit of the strength buff that a zoan type DF provides. Not to mention that a character of Zoro’s caliber and traits is very likely to awaken said fruit. I personally think he would be near unstoppable.

Weirdly enough, Idk if this is already a theory or not (I've never seen/heard someone else talk about this but I could be very wrong, I think you may have nailed what Dragon's fruit is with the mythical hito hito no mi: model Susanoo-no-mikoto. Aside from the storm based powers he has shown off already, the way Dragon is depicted and is viewed by the world is very similar to that of Susanoo. In some texts Susanoo was banished from the heavens due to his bad behaviour yet was also depicted in some texts as a hero who killed a serpent (the yamata no orochi) and was linked with better harvests. (this next bit is head canon) I personally am a fan of the theory that Dragon used to be a member of the God's knights (which is why he was scared when Sabo brought up the name even though they are a group that is completely secret to the public) and then betrayed them at some point after learning about a secret of the world government. Now that means that he was banished/he escape from what is revered as heaven in the One Piece world because of his behaviour, however he is seen as a hero by other people as the leader of the Revolutionary Army.

Oda was actually asked by this type of question and he officially did provide an answer for it: in which he said the Devil Fruit would be consumed by one of Zoro's swords; and he said that the Devil Fruit would be Kaidou's Devil Fruit: the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu (Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon)

i still think the best fruit for zoro would be the kilo kilo no mi since it doesnt change and just enhances his fighting style, he cant add weight to his body making his swings that much more stronger. and if he awakens his fruit he can add weight to his swords maybe and further enchance it
