On Classical King’s “Northwest Focus Live” with Sean MacLean, the Navy Band Northwest's Brass Quintet performs Sleigh Ride, composed by Leroy Anderson.
Leroy Anderson was once described as “one of the great American masters of light orchestral music” by John Williams. “Sleigh Ride”, one of his most famous pieces, was not intended as a Christmas piece, but as a work that describes a winter event. Anderson began composing it during a heat wave in August of 1946.
