Land Rover Wireless Software Updates

Land Rover's wireless software update capability is an exciting innovation that keeps your vehicle at the forefront of automotive technology. Updates can be made anywhere in the world and at a time that suits you, without the need to visit a Retailer. To benefit from the wireless software update feature, please ensure that you either have a SIM card inserted in your vehicle or that it has a Wi-Fi connection. Software updates must then be turned on in your vehicle to maximise your driving experience*.

*Software updates are auto-enabled for vehicles operating on InControl Touch Pro version 19A3 onwards.

We live in Sri Lanka and we had a 2019 Range Rover autobiography P400e LWB, the vehicle didn't start and it said we needed to update the software. In Sri Lanka there is only one Land Rover service centre in the whole country, so we had to tow the vehicle to the service centre and let the officials update it for us. Imagine we were in the middle of a jungle in an off-road track, we would've died.

That was easy. Just connect my RR Sport to my house WIFI and updated it in the Garage. Works.

Do I need to update land rover discovery 2017 for map or software?

It takes forever to update and install over 4G. When connected to home wifi, the update is faster. I noticed the infotainment system lagged to the point of being useless while the car was in motion/operation when it tried to automatically update. The screen went blank 😬

Does not work in my Velar. UK just get no update available & telematics one just spins forever.

No update here. I think there’s minimum required version for supporting wireless upgrade.

Oh man. I don’t even have that option to “check for update” on my 2018 Range Rover sport. While the car is fantastic, the controls and user interfaces are not aligned with the quality of the car. They are rather slow and somewhat buggy.

I don’t have the button to turn Software Update on/off on my 2018 RR Sport. When I tap “Check for update” under Vehicle software, it just spins for several minutes and times-out. Infotainment software updates just fine. Any ideas how to update Vehicle software?

just got a 2020 Velar Dynamic 17 speaker meridian upgrade, with infotainment and Apple car play. HUGE disappointment. NO way to play videos, No you tube through browser.NO HDMI port for 19-20 unless you get TV package. They purposely changed the software. Unable to find any interface or nav tool to override. Any ideas?

Does not work! It just spins on the screen for ever and ever. With 4G and connected to my high speed fibre optic wifi in my home. The system tells me that an update is needed but clearly cant do it OTA
