Much respect guys. I've definitely taken covering up a lot more serious since I've started watching. I get some weird looks when its warmer out but I'd rather be safe than sorry! Thank you guys for risking it all and a huge THANK YOU to the tactical bassin WIVES!!!! We know without them non of this would be possible. The whole tactical family is amazing so again Thank You.

Almost lost my brother to skin cancer. Life-long cyclist, never used skin block, amazing shape for a 60-year old and none of that mattered when he got diagnosed with melanoma on his nose. Thankfully he’s in remission and the first thing I did when I heard about his diagnosis was buy sun gear. I kayak in pretty harsh direct sun and never never get on the water without covering up. Thanks so much for always getting the message out on skin cancer. You are doing a great Public Health Service. Keep it up!

Fantastic video guys. This comes from my daughter that is an RN in a Dermatology Surgery Center so she knows all about it! One thing that’s very important for the younger guys to understand is that the sun-damaged cells that become cancerous are usually from exposure from 10 to 30 years ago. I am 62 and I go in every 6 months and have new occurrences every visit. Luckily, only one “carving” on my shoulder so far but hundreds frozen off. I come from a generation that didn’t even think about sun protection. We thought a good burn first thing in the spring was just perfect for tanning the rest of the summer.🙄. You young guys (35 and under), COVER UP or you WILL be paying the price for decades. I appreciate you guys bringing so much attention to this. Great video as always.

I agree with all of it about the sun. If I wear sunscreen too much, I break out in rashes. So I've started wearing a lot more sun clothing. I will say, it took a while but I listened to you to get checked a couple years ago (I was only on the water about 4-5 days last year, barely outside). Had to have something frozen off, but it wasn't cancerous. I didn't have anything to worry about, but it was good to get that thought going, especially since I turned 40 a month ago.
Thank you for what you guys do, not just for the teaching about fishing, but for being a voice of reason.

Sun protection is a must. I was born and raised as a farmer and spent many hours in the sun. There wasn’t the information on the damage sun can do back then much less sun screen. I have had all those same surgeries as Matt has and have to be checked every six months. Sun screen and sun gear are a must. Having your face or anyplace else operated on isn’t fun. Thanks for sharing that information guy’s. I enjoy you channel, keep up all the great content, and thanks for all you do for us!!

ditto on the sun protection!!. I go every 6mo after I too had a spot removed near my eye like Matt. I got similar scar myself. Good stuff guys!

The main thing I love about Matt, Tim and this channel is that they are not 100% one brand driven like most other channels. Yes Aftco is big in their apparel (no biggie) and yes they lean towards a few brands as preference but not sponsored. I love how they love products from strike king to spro or St Croix to Dobyns. They pic out, what they feel is the best overall so we can purchase and perform. Thank You

I encourage everyone to try and buy most of their fishing gear that is made right here in the USA. All of AFTCO clothing is made in China, Vietnam or wherever. Companies like Forloh fishing apparel is 100% sourced and made in the USA. You can find rain gear and anything else still made in the USA 🇺🇸 No disrespect to Matt and Tim but it’s something to consider.

I forgot, the Reaper jacket was my Christmas gift to me 2022. It has become my favorite everyday all-around, year-round jacket. FYI, I wear Cocoons ($50.00) because I needed sunglasses to fit-over my Silhouette, prescription glasses, Amber with Green Mirror, also available in Blue Mirror for saltwater fishing. Cocoons are much better than prescription sunglasses I had made and cheaper too... 🍺🎣
Thanks for sharing these tips

I've got a lot of Simms cold weather, rain, and heat gear. Love the performance and comfort. Orvis has some really good sunglasses that don't break the bank.

Hey guys, first thing I noticed when opening this video was the beards, lookin good! I’ve been a student of yours for over five years. You both have taught me more about bass fishing than you could possibly imagine. In many ways, you and bass fishing have allowed me to work through some hard life events and for that I owe you and thank you. Buying gear, saving money, getting value and hearing your reviews has definitely helped me with my collection. Your “YouTube formula is definitely working, congratulations on the success and subscriber base. Given all the info you provide is free to me, I’ve no right to complain. However, as a longtime sub, I want to offer a comment I have felt since you moved from CA. As mentioned, I have learned a lot from you guys and do appreciate it all, that said, seems the overall “formula” has become a little weighted on the tackle pimping side. Please don’t get me wrong, I still watch everything you publish and when I buy from TW, it is through your link and I will continue do do so as a small effort to support and repay you. Gear is great, but my PB was on the cheapest rod and reel I own and a senko! Less gear more technique.
PS, great message about sun protection…check out Ross Englands report this week and give him some grief about his “tan”. Tight lines!

I have 2 bibs and jackets, one for fishing up north and one for construction job up north, always warm and never worried about being cold, weather fishing on top of the ice in a wind storm or out in subpar temperatures

I got the reaper hoodie for Christmas and love it for ice fish. Can’t wait to use it while kayak fishing this spring!

I’m glad you finally introduced a hat that shades the ears…albeit a tad large. I wear a “boonie” hat…the military style thin brimmed floppy cloth hat. It catches less wind on the water but still covers my ears from direct sun. I’ve had a few incidents with skin related issues, so I’m very cautious. I use a spray on sunscreen because I hate having it on my fingers. I also wear sun gear from a major outdoor store’s shirts. They are vented, looser fitting and have the sun protection impregnated into the fabric.

I love AFTCO. I have learned that it runs a little large or full fit. That's great for the winter to layer up. I go down one size for summer in shirt sizes since I'm a slim fit. The Stealth fishing shorts are my favorite. I found that wearing all quick dry full coverage clothing is self cooling in the summer. It's like having a built-in air conditioner from the evaporation... 5'11" tall 32" waist, 165lbs.
