Hana is an old character of mine who I haven't developed in a while, although he used to have a pretty fleshed out world and story. Some doodles of him can still be found on my Instagram. I made this storyboard about 2 years ago, and finally decided to finish it, which took roundabouts a week to do.
I don't really remember the original meme or who it was by, I think it's been deleted? In any case it's been a long time and I'm sure this is nothing like the original other than having a little loop. And it's also the full song too anyway. So whatever! I do what I want! Mwahaha!

Anyway, Hana!
This world has a form of vampirism that exists as a random and extremely rare genetic mutation, and essentially results in heightened vitality at the cost of needing to consume fellow humans. This mutation doesn't express itself until sometime after puberty, so they usually have normal childhoods -- and then a sudden cannibalistic event that changes their life forever.
Hana was very strong willed, and when he began to feel this insatiable hunger and dark urges, he resisted until he reached a breaking point. The smell of fresh blood from a paper cut caused him to black out and attack his classmate, consuming two of his fingers before other classmates managed to fight him off, weaponizing a chair.
The resulting head trauma, coupled with his extreme resistance to eating people, resulted in a sort of internal split -- the cannibal mutation and his human self were unable to merge into one cohesive identity. Hana can, as such, continue to live as a human... vaguely. He is extremely volatile, and when his cannibalism is triggered, he completely blacks out and loses all sense of reasoning until he either eats flesh or is bludgeoned once more.
Fortunately (or maybe not), the classmate who lost his fingers to Hana ended up becoming closer friends with him, even if the relationship began with a heavy conscience and morbid curiosity. In the end, fingerless (sorry, I never named him) was the only person Hana allowed himself to get close to as he isolated himself in fear. Later on, he opened himself up a bit to fingerless' girlfriend.
Still, Hana remains haunted by that day, riddled with nightmares that feel all too real. What if he hurts someone again? What if he takes someone's life? What if this happens every time he goes to sleep? All he can do is hope that those deep, aching pains of hunger never go away.
