RAM 1500 NEW OWNER INFO NOT IN OWNER'S MANUAL

Always follow local laws when it comes to wearing seatbelts.

Wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of dying by 45 percent for people in the front seat of passenger cars. For those in pickups, seat belts reduce the risk of dying by 60 percent since pickups are more likely to roll over than passenger vehicles. Your seat belt is designed to keep you from being thrown into the dashboard or windshield—or even onto the road. An airbag can be a big lifesaver. But without a seat belt, it can be ineffective and even dangerous. In a crash, a seat belt ensures you’re not thrown into a fast-opening airbag—a force that could injure you or worse. You may think your airbag is going to protect you, but it’s designed to work with seat belts, not to replace them.

Just bought my truck from Preston (5/14/2021). He was excellent and diligent in helping me with everything that needed to get done. Most of the deal was done over the phone and I was not disappointed when I met him in person to pick up the truck. He was able to explain all the features of the vehicle and some best practices. It was worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to buy from someone who really cared about their customer. I will definitely recommend getting your next truck from him.

My little trick I learned from the service manager is when your power windows stop working to one click fully open or close is to hold the button down or up 3 seconds once it’s respectively open or closed and it will work again.

Vehicle VIN numbers, there is a specific number in your VIN code that allows you to purchase a full mechanics manual and detailed instructions to take apart and put together your entire truck. You either have to contact the dealership and or go through the certain channels to purchase these manuals there should be three of them the cost can be up to $500 for all three. I know this I used to work at a dealership's

If you lightly tap the washer fluid button on the turn signal stalk, you get one dry wipe. Because sometimes you only need one wipe. 😅😉😄

With eTorque you don't need a battery trickle charger. The 48 volt battery keeps the 12 volt battery topped off using energy regenerated and stored from braking and upshifting. It also eliminates the traditional alternator.

Some 2019 DT RAM 1500’s had rain water leaks above the rear window, some from cracked trim and some from a bad seal around the 3rd brake light housing. My 2020 has been dry. However, as a preventative measure I cut one continuous length of clear plastic tubing (1/4” outer diameter I believe) and carefully wedged it into the gap around the top and both sides of the rear brake light housing. It prevents water and gunk accumulation as well as preventing UV degradation at the factory seal, costs less than a dollar, does no harm, and is completely reversible (unlike a messy caulk job). I highly recommend the tubing wedge mod as it could prevent mold and musty smell in the cabin and expensive repair costs.

Very interesting. I’ve owned several Ram/Dodge trucks over the years (most recently a 2022 Rebel) and I learned more tidbits from this 4 minute video that I didn’t know in decades of Ram ownership. THANKS.

I have a 2022 challenger and I was able to disable the seat belt chime using these same procedures. Thanks!

My 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie was a nice truck. However, I quickly learned the build quality was not what I expected. I had problems with a whistling noise in the lower part of the windshield on the driver side. It drove me crazy in the freeway over 65 mph. Also, the widow controls on the driver side were acting up. I would sometimes have the windows half down and wanted to bring them back up and the window would go in the opposite direction. I had squeaking noises coming from the right front suspension whenever I drove over small to medium sized bumps in the road. Other than that, the truck was great. I decided to sell the truck back to a Dodge dealer since values went up and I made some cash.

Man that tip on how to disable the seat belt alarm is great. Gonna go try it this morning.. too bad doing that wouldn’t permanently disable the beep until you wanted to turn it on again by doing it again.

I’ve owned four, and the reason is each one was a upgrade. They don’t tell you nothing…. My first Ram was a 09. I didn’t know the little cubby’s were under the rear floor mats until the first time I went to vacuum my truck out. I had a 2013, 2016 and now a 2017 and each truck I found and learned something about just owning them. The dealer is definitely not going to tell you anything because they don’t know they’re self. It’s get the sale and on to the next one…

I wish the limited would have come with the 6.4... and the Laramie with the 5.7.. I agree.. they dropped the ball on that one

I know this is an old video, but Chrysler vehicles had the cruise go up in intervals if you hold the button, since the 70s. It doesn't need to be in the manual after 50 years. The seatbelt thing won't work anymore, because the 24s won't move, unless the seatbelt is buckled.
