Golden Eagle v Fox Face off

Golden Eagle versus Fox face off. Recorded at a raptor photography hide in the Aragon Pyrenees by Catalan Bird Tours in April 2018.

that eagle was probably checking to see if the fox had caught something that it could steal - they're opportunistic, and always on the lookout for an easy meal

The fox was thinking of giving the eagle a quick bite. The eagle is definitely vulnerable to the fox when sitting on the ground. On the other hand, the fox has no real reason to risk injury dealing with an eagle.

Is this a face off? It's very difficult for humans to read avian body language, even with training. We notice and relate to mammals much more in that way but even that is more often misunderstood. This is why many of the comments below say this is not a face off - which zoologically speaking it is, of course - as I suppose some are expecting Nick Cage/John Travolta violence, or are perhaps disappointed that there isn't any. Thanks for all your comments...and I really am sorry about the camera noise (that I had no control over so I'm not sure of the point in complaining about it...and you can always hit the mute button right?).

The noise is a bit irritating, but that is brilliant footage, well done. It was interesting watching the body the Fox watching the Eagles body language. ya could see as the eagle turned its back on the fox and wouldnt look at him, he got more confident.

The cinematography is above par, but the plot runs a little thin, however the soundtrack is breathtaking. Four out of five stars.

Lol. Eagle didn't even perceive the fox as a threat. It's eyes literally scooted over him like 'meh, not enough meat'.

The fox looked very submissive. The expression on it's face was super expressive. The eagle just wanted some professional photos taken for it's acting/modeling resume.
