Great tips!
The number one tip for gaff tape is not all gaff tape is the same. Cheaper gaff tape doesn't stick to everything and will fall off and not support weight like duvetyne. If you spend $20.00 or more per roll, it usually means it's a quality roll.
The number two tip for gaff tape is buy one quality roll for yourself and one cheap roll for everyone else, because everyone will "borrow" your tape on set.
Gaff tape tip not aforementioned: When filming a scene with picture frames, often a reflection from the glass will show crew or the camera. You can remove the glass from the picture frame, but an easier and faster method is to wad a two gaff balls & place them under each corner of the picture frame to divert the reflection, while having the frame still look normal.
White paper tape (similar to gaff tape), is often used on slates to prevent important information from accidentally being wiped off, if the dry-erase marks get bumped.
Camera tape (1") is used for actors. Traditionally, the lead actor gets red camera tape, then blue, then other colors, but the colors have changed.
Roll XLR cables around the boom pole in a spiral pattern, no gaff needed.
Haha, YoutubeSpaceLA.
I use ½" conduit inside ¾" all the time! (I drilled holes for cotter pins, but gaff tape works too).
I have taped many an apple box together with gaff, even a platform of apples, (although I added sand bags to the perimeter for added safety).

As a lefty, that is some LEGIT backwards guitar playing. Oh, and great video too, of course.

Got to love gaffa tape. I always have some around my tripod leg just in case. Those velcro cable tie things are pretty handy to have around too.

Also, we don't tend to have the issue of plugs coming apart here in the UK with our monstrously sized plugs lol.

I'm an audio/video installer/integrator which really has nothing to do with production or studios but I can't tell you how many times gaffers tape has come in handy or saved the day. Securing cables to the backs of TVs or displays alone is a good reason to keep a roll or two on the vans.
