DIY Complete Off-Grid Furniture Build using Free Wood Pallets - Living with my Dogs in a Canvas Tent

In this video I build furniture for my off-grid canvas tent out of recycled wood pallets that I collected from some factory locations. I haul them to my site with my dogs Scout and Ridge. I then break the pallets down and build a desk, chair, bed, and table from them for free. I then finish moving into my canvas tent so I can concentrate my efforts on preparing the cordwood cabin site. The snow begins to fall but with a roaring fire and hot tea, Scout, Ridge and I are more than comfortable in the tent while I work on my cabin blueprints.

5:30 gave me a big smile. She is on a MISSION! And Ridge trying to catch it. 🤣 I love the energy of a bird dog in action.
Seeing them on the bed behind you in the tent around 17:45 reminds me of camping with my dogs (the mother/son shorthairs in my current profile pic). They had their own sleeping bags I moved around for them, once they had burned off some energy and I could set up camp. Speaking of camp, it's coming along nicely. Haha! We were taught as kids by my Dad to hammer used nails out of wood, and then hammer them back to straight so they can be used again. It's something my Dad'd Dad taught him when he was growing up ( po' folks do that), and something my brother and I still do. It's really neat seeing that still being done by someone else in this day and age.

Things are coming along great so far. I'm looking forward to the next step, and thanks for sharing this with us.

It's nice you're able to obtain free pallets. Where I live, they charge you $10.00 for any used pallets if you can even find them. People scarf them up as quick as they're disposed of. Nice work.

Beautiful! Rudimentary furniture. It is perfect for a temporary set up. I just loved seeing the dogs on the bed in the background. I think you will have a tough time getting them down on the ground tonight. Build your dream cabin!
