I’ve been living this way for 20 years. I love this life also. Surrounded by trees. My home is 20’x20’. Scything is my favorite way to cut grass. We use all of our grass for the garden and chicken pens. It keeps you so healthy. I’m 58 and still loving it. You never stop learning when you live this way. It is so rewarding. Great to see young people enjoying this way of life. You should be proud of what you have accomplished. The more you learn the easier it gets to learn new skills .

What a relief to see an old soul living young... you are an inspiration, young man.

Of all the tiny homes I've seen, this young man's build is my favorite. It's rustic, carefully thought out, and he speaks of his "vision." The Bible speaks of failure, and it further talks about the importance of having a VISION! This young guy has got it! Thanks so much for sharing, and you've inspired me to keep my own thoughts of originality without succumbing to the world's view of maintaining a home. I absolutely loved this :)

I'm so much in awe of this young man. So simple and honest, it shows in his smile! Love the way he thinks, especially the advice he gave in the don't be scared to try stuff, to make a mess of things, don't worry about not making it Such mature thinking.... Truly inspiring!

Love it. I'm 80 yrs old and still dream of my small log cabin. Have a little solar
unit for emergencies in my home, but would love more. You've got a great thing going on in your life. Congratulations on your work ethics, many talents, and mental fortitude. You are definately one of a kind! Stay safe, Virginia

This is who they used to call "a self made man". This guy is just so comfortable in his own life. I admire his self education and acceptance of living within his means.

"I appreciate that raindrop." THAT IS ONE OF THE CUTEST THINGS I´VE EVER HEARD

Nice... he's informative without being preachy... which is a fatal flaw in alot of alternative lifestyle folks. Great Video!

Young men like this need not be as rare as they are today. Impressive. And notice how he didn’t wait to get started until he turned 18. That’s the key. He started young to learn the skills needed and took the initiative to build his own space and maintain it. Fantastic.

The blade cutting grass is so satisfying for some reason

"Dude I respect your skills as a carpenter, just make me anything."
"You need a catwalk."

What I like is that he has to take a short walk from his car to his home. Too many of us arrive, take a few steps and we’re inside. Never taking the time to just unwind with a short walk, letting the daily stresses melt off before coming in with overcrowded thoughts of whatever is going on that day. It like a short brisk transition from the big world to your safe haven. Mad props to this guy I hope I have the balls some day.

This guy is amazing, I like his outlook in life. Someday I want to live like this, a self sufficient and off-grid tiny house. I want a simple life, grow my own foods, not worrying about bills, the goal is to live a happy life with minimal expenses.

I lived in Maine till about 4 years ago and I really miss this kind of spirit which many people have (figuring out how to create things without getting wrapped up in consumer culture) and I really miss the landscape. This place reminds me of an off grid house my then-boyfriend built near Skowhegan many years ago. I still think about the carpet of stars at night and the cold (which I miss, go figure). I hope to move back to northern New England.

This is the first tiny house I've ever seen that actually looks realistic and isn't empty and immaculate. There's actually stuff in there!

Hey Jesse, I live in Maine too. I think tiny houses are awesome but I have 3 kids so the closest I'll ever get to having a tiny house might be a camper.... lol

Maybe when I retire :)
