Put this on on my phone for my bearded dragon to watch with the volume all the way up. He tuned right in and eventually tried to catch one of the crickets with his tongue. Now he's mad at me for tricking him and he's sat at the other end of the room glaring at me.

I have a cricket in my room who fell in through one of the vent shafts (during snowy season lots of them are found inside the house) and it chirped slowly, when I played this, its chirping speed increased to super fast, as if it were panicking.

The sound is produced by a comb-like part on their wings yes. It's a very common misconception that the sound is made from them rubbing their legs together.

I always wonder how they chirp. I always hear them every time I go to bed while they chirp in my bearded dragon's enclosure. So once I had enough, I just find them, grab them, and hand feed my dragon so I can have peace and quiet.

I recently acquired a scorpion which eats crickets. My feeder crickets chirp for hours on end, day and night, rain or shine and never shut the fuck up!
