FOLLOW THE HEAD AND THE HEART

LYRICS:
Ain’t it nice to be so lucky
Ain’t it nice to be so loved
Oh come on darlin’ won’t you let me
won’t you let me drive you home
Cause I’ve had the rhythm and blues since the day you met me
Stepped on my blue suede shoes watch Elvis go crazy
Oh come on darlin’ won’t you let me
won’t you let me turn you on
Cause no one likes to be so lonely
No one likes to feel alone
Oh come on darlin’ won’t you let me
Won’t you let me drive you home
I’ll drive you home
Oh come on darlin’ won’t you let me
Won’t you let me turn you on
I know my faithful mind is so blind
I’ve been running out on everyone and everything til now
If its Monday or Sunday
Well I’ve got the rhythm and blues since the day you met me
Stepped on my blue suede shoes you made Elvis go crazy
Oh come on darlin’ won’t you let me
Won’t you let me turn you on

Sometimes, there are songs that perfectly encapsulate how you feel, your mood, your energy, the words you want to say but you can't find. And when those words are paired up with a tune that bores itself into your heart and goes deeper into your soul, then you feel like someone understands you, and knows all your unvoiced thoughts and feelings.

This is one of those songs. And thank Jah for that!

I have to disagree with a lot of people here - this is one of my favorites from the album. The meaning is as much in the lyrics as the atmosphere it creates. There are references to classic songs, and just like those old songs, love can be simple. Sometimes when you love someone you just want to get on your guitar and hum to yourself an anthem.

I've been on a week-long boondocking roadtrip throughout the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and can't think of a better way to finish it off than with seeing Head & the Heart and Tallest Man On Earth at Red Rocks! So stoked!!

I'm absolutely in love with this song. THANK YOU The Head and the Heart for creating and releasing this. You cannot please everyone but know that there are more people who love what you are putting out there than those criticizing in the comments!! There will be people who have expectations... but keep putting out what you believe. I love your music!! Can never get enough of it (and was honestly surprised to see negative feedback in the comments). Love you guys!

I know, i know... every band has to reach to a wider audience at some point. Change of musical direction also happens when artists sign up to a major label. Mumford and Sons went big band in their new album. Either a coincidence that The Head and The Heart is following that direction or not, this is obviously a big step for the band. Im going to miss the old them, but im glad they still have some folksy cuts in the new album.

This is an awesome song that has a lot of feeling. I don't understand the criticism found in comments below.

you have to take a step forward or take two steps back eventually i love this new reinvention with synth and pop sensibilities they are still gonma write great music and sing well singularly and together just the sound changes slightly, for those complaining i doubt you have ever evolved in your life

[Verse 1]
Ain't it nice to be so lucky?
Ain't it nice to be so loved?
Come on, darling, won't you let me
Won't you let me drive you home?

[Chorus 1]
Cause I've had the rhythm and blues
Since the day you met me
Stepped on my blue suede shoes
Watch Elvis go crazy

Come on, darling, won't you let me
Won't you let me turn you on?

[Verse 2]
Cause no one likes to be so lonely
No one likes to feel alone
Come on, darling, won't you let me
Won't you let me drive you home?

[Verse 3]
I drive you home
Ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooh ooh-ooh
Ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooh ooh ooh...
Come on, darling, won't you let me
Won't you let me turn you on?
[Bridge]
I know my faithful mind's so blind
I’ve been running out on everyone
And everything till now
If it's Monday or Sunday

[Chorus 2]
Well I've got the rhythm and blues
Since the day you met me
Stepped on my blue suede shoes
You made Elvis go crazy

Come on, darling, won't you let me
Won't you let me turn you on?

Saw these guys for the 2nd time at SDSU amphitheatre. They sounded so tired. Poor guys, they have been on tour for over a year and think it's catching up to them.
