California Vehicle Title Transfer (Pink Slip) - Seller and Buyer

This video is to help people to understand the title transfer process while selling or buying a vehicle. Just thought of sharing it from a “common man” perspective..

In CA, this form can now be completed online for the buyer which speeds up the process and release of liability. Personally, I was worried about how long to maintain my insurance coverage of the vehicle in case the buyer delayed putting the car in their name. Luckily, I sold mid month and my insurance company put a notice to discontinue my insurance on the vehicle until the end of the month BEFORE my next payment. THANKS for the clear description of the process.

Buyer MUST sign for it on the front bottom right. what he said put your signature (Seller) here ( Where buyers signature goes) he was wrong (4:42)

Hey I forgot to rip the top red part off and take it to the dmv how do I notify the dmv that I sold my car without the top attachment!?

Correct me if I am wrong. AT 2:06 you mention the buyer signs and dates the lower left area, which is correct. At 2:12, same area on the right, I think the buyer signs that part, you mentioned the seller again. Sorry if I am wrong.

Does, Last name always come first on the title? And I am a Jr. and it is at the end on the title. The title shows (Lastname) (Firstname) (Middle Name) Jr. How do I sign?

Friendly advice: don’t put the exact amount of the car you bought. Otherwise you will get charged for the tax. I would suggest just put $500 on purchase price section. This is important to know
