There shouldn't be any Ukrainian scammers, they should be in Poland to work not to sponge off tourists, if they don't want to contribute to the Polish economy, they should go home and help their country in some way. I made my feelings very clear towards one of them mooching around with his little clip board. Krakow is my favourite city and I hate to see Lunkheads on the fiddle, ignore them and you will be fine, thanks Col for your knowledge of this beautiful city. Hope people listen to your advice and have a smashing time 👍

Some good news coming out of Poland, Polish authorities will ensure young Ukrainian men living in Poland who are eligible for military service will be returned to the Ukraine, hopefully, some of those scammers will have to go back and serve their country as they should do 👍

It is nice to see Krakow again. Where the Hard Rock cafe is I remember a Soviet bookshop in the mid 1980's. For good value for money, there are one or two mar mleczny around the town and they tend to be a little cheaper. in the main square, there is an Irish theme bar and beer costs around 25 zloties for a liter glass. I tended to go to the Galeria Krakowska, go upstairs, and go to Carrefour where you can buy your own beer and wine at competitive prices. in the evening if it is cold and windy, treat yourself to a cheap cinema ticket, there is a really nice old-fashioned cinema on the corner of the market square called Pod Barami. For around four pounds you can watch a film be it a Polish film or a foreign film with subtitles. If you go to Auschwitz or the salt mine museum, it is well worth while trying to barter over the prices.

I am working right in the hart of the center and i can tell you that these scammers are absolutley never agressive... irritating yes but if you tell them "no sorry" its fine.

I disagree with you on some points here.

First the Ukrainian scammers at the Square are the ones with papers and a website. The only legitimate ones that I am aware of are those as part of the twice a day protest (12 to 14 and 20 to 21). They only have one box to collect from directly in front of them. Often scammers wearing Ukrainian flags will be walking around the protest attempting to intercept people from donating to the legitimate protesters.

A suggestion for those going to the pole dancing clubs. You are safe with no problems as long as you decide before walking in how much you will spend and NEVER going to the backroom for the private dances. Get a beer or two and enjoy the beautiful girls dance and then leave. If you do more than that, that is when bad things may happen.
