Officers took protesters into custody late Tuesday after Columbia University called in police to end the pro-Palestinian occupation on the New York campus. The scene unfolded shortly after 9 p.m. as police, wearing helmets and carrying zip ties and riot shields, massed at the Ivy League university’s entrance. Officers breached Hamilton Hall, an administration building on campus, to clear out the structure.

This is the United States of America. Someone needs to step up and put a sudden halt to this madness immediately.

Those same people were free to stage their protest anywhere they wanted on public land.
However, attempting to lock down a private university is ridiculous.
They're just loud squatters

The faculty who encouraged this whole fiasco should all be dismissed from their jobs!

Its private property. Its not " our" campus. Faculty are employees only

What comes to mind. Who will be paying for all the cost of breaking up this action, police, building broken windows etc.

Protesting sure beats studying. Final exams at Columbia university are now take-home. Mission accomplished! Now we need to protest for Student Loan forgiveness. P.S. The irony of these protests is we're seeing a Frankenstein monster attacking it's own creator. If you want to know who rules you, simply identify who it is you cannot criticize.

They won’t even spend the night in jail. Spoiled, entitled kids who face no real consequences.

Acquaintances in NYC told me a few years back, “We are not an American city. We are an international city in America”. Ha-ha!

These are not even students. That’s the crazy part like they never paid an ounce of money but vandalized the School. Do it at a Park Don’t Be Criminals.

The journalist does not mention the reason for the protest, namely to stop the genocide
