In this video I dig into Reinforced Unit rules in your 3rd Edition Age of Sigmar list building. I’ll highlight how it will influence your list building, provide examples of them in play, and highlight some considerations before you start reinforcing your units.

Thanks coach for the break down.
I think its great in some ways to prevent spamming certain units and to add importance to battlelines.
Although this means some units really need revised warscrolls, as they are definitely made obsolete.
Like ungor raiders (Not battleline), get reroll 1 and 2 to hit using units of 30 but now are limited to 20 models max.

I really love the new visual style of the videos =D

I’m kinda scared to reinforce my units but I guess this means more experimenting =D

Thanks for breaking this down, Coach. I wasn't sure if the reinforcement points were spent more than once to double-reinforce a Battleline unit or if you could do it twice for one point.

Absolutely fantastic work finally a proper explanation

With your example of the 60 grots. This gives you more incentive to bring the gobbapaloza and use the hypnotic powers of one of their numbers to remove the threat of battleshock.

As for myself I’ve been trying to write lists with this in mind and I’m not overly worried about it. One unit usually gets tripled and another two doubled but it’s a rare occurrence as I’m writing lists to fill core battalions for extra bonuses.

Very informative, I really enjoy breakdowns such as this to combat my "am I reading this right?" apprehensions...
Would it be possible for a command point when, how, why video? Greetings from Newy...

I feel sorry for Castigators - I struggled to take them when I use my Stormcast as it is (aside from Hailstorm Battery). Coming in 3's as they do I can't see me spending reinforcement slots on them, but taking MSU's of them is just really inefficient for getting buffs and CP abilities on them. Ah well, let's see what if anything they get in the new tome.

Great vid coach, looking forward to what 3rd ed brings

My ideas for what I want from reinforcements entirely depend on the unit I am looking at. For instance, I want double reinforced Zombies, but only single reinforced Chainrasps. I am looking to just throw zombies at as much as I can and overwhelm with weight of dice, while my Chainrasps are going to be best hanging out near Spirit Torments (Reikenor's Condemned subfaction) and need the smaller size to more easily retain that "wholly within" requirement.

Same goes for more elite units. I want to be able to split elite cavalry to maximize their usefulness around the board, so Blood Knights and Chaos Knights I would look to keep at the minimum size, but Chaos Warriors and Graveguard, that I would have holding down key objectives/points on the battlefield, I would want larger to be able to soak better.

Skaven battline needs a rework. Most battle line need to be maxed size to work effectively. Upside side is I can take a 60 rat block of clanrats now.

As someone who is just starting his first army, I'm very happy this change in unit sizes came now and not later after spending my hard earned cash!

However, I feel bad for the chaps who played with large regiments and aren't able to do so anymore. :(

"Some of these have bonuses for larger units"
*Cries in new skaven unit sizes*

I kept seeing "Maximum unit size" in the warscrolls without it actually stating the maximum - I'm guessing that means it's up to the number of reinforcements you're allowed depending on game rule you're applying, but double reinforcement (triple the unit's size) sounds like the average maximum for Battleline and single reinforcement (double its size) for Other unless there's a rule that makes an exception made by the army trait or the general's personal rules.

And since Unit Size is in regards to the minimum number of models to make up that unit, that means a reinforcement to that unit is made for every additional model up to that minimum, right? If a unit has a minimum size of 10 models, every additional single model will count towards it being reinforced until that unit is fully double its minimum size (a unit of 15 models with a minimum size of 10 will be treated as reinforced once despite not having 20 models) - am I right about that?

I'm not fully clued in on the rules, I'm more a collector than a player, but I still find the game interesting, especially if I can look at a unit and wonder just how big I can get away with making it - odds are 4th Edition will have changed things again, so this video will be outdated nowadays, but it's still useful in some form.

In ogor mawtribes gorgers are they worth it here in 3.0 ? If you can only make 2 man units i dont see them being of much use.
