In this video I'll be looking at Battle Tactics in 3rd Editions Age of Sigmar, specifically the ones from the Generals Handbook battle pack. I’ll look at what the battle tactics are all about, highlight some ideas on how to use each of them, and possible timing. You’ll want to get across Battle Tactics quickly because it’ll be one of the most influential reasons you’ll win or lose.

Let me know what’s your rational on Battle Tactics and how do you choose yours.

I tend to make a battle tactic decesion on the situation in front of me before the battle round begins. Whatever looks the most achievable is what I go with. Very situational.

Having recently played in three days of a big event these are super important. You really have to think about the order. Some are impossible late game. There was one game where my opponent said "I can't get any." and we talked through his one long shot option. You really do need to think these out.

Your table at the end matches mine!

That's how I put up a decision tree + priority list for battle tactics. Built the army with it in mind (as that list, imo, is very widely applicable and almost army neutral).

- Models I think are cool and have great potential
- Score Objectives
- Score Tactics
- Nab the grand strategy

That's the priority list for army making for me. Some darlings had to be left in the bin (not good rules no matter how much I like the model), but otherwise got to use that I liked and what synergised.

I got absolutely creamed at a tournament recently so this has been a great study tool to get around whilst I lick my wounds. Cheers Coach!

It's crazy how complex planning for these can be depending on which ones you have available and which ones your opponent has available.
Example: I can score x and y, but I can score y while denying him the ability to score his easy battle tactic z in his next round, though scoring x then y would be a lot easier for me.
