Maturity is when you realise Tejas Mk1a has more TR modules than Rafales

The options for Iaf could be
1) for short term options could be build up good ground based air defence and offense systems based on missiles/ drones / sensors etc.
2) for medium term option order more of indigenously built tejas-mark-1a( possibly kaveri engine in the future) and more su-30( preferably in super sukhoi version)
3 ) long term options amca, tejas-mark-2 etc.

If this continues, then the only option available for India is to place order with China, who is the only one who is producing on numbers that van deliver anything before 2030.

What I understand : -
1) Tejas mk2 is going to make it's rollout by 2025, first flight by 2026, expected IOC by 2028, then start it's procurement and do in service upgrades to FOC.
2) AMCA is expected to rollout by 2026, first flight by 2028, then can be inducted with IOC.
3) We are already working on CATS program, fast track it to get result by decade end. CATS warrior is expected to get rollout this year. The force multiplier can help IAF to get boost.
4) GHATAK UCAV must be fast tracked in mission mode.
5) To involve private sector, IAF need to pay more than current price for indigenous options.
6) We can sustain a long battle only on the basis of indigenous options.

I want orders placed for 7-8 squadrons of Mk2 with 18-24 jets per year. Expedite GaN based sensor and sign F414 asap

Reports are suggesting that Pakistani gigantic 5th gen aircraft acquisition deals with Turkey and China have sent shockwaves in Indian top quarters. IAF top officials are having sleepless nights in panic.

From the outset ...each and every airforce chief who have retired till now has said...that all the domestic programs are in parallel with purchase of foreign jet...
LCA Mk1 IOC---FOC---LCA MK1A ---LCA MK2---AMCA
this is the order no matter what...in domastic programs...
MRFA AND FGFA are our PPP models...for foreign fighter procurement...this should be clear for each n every one before criticizing...and yes purchasing of FGFA has become top priority now... because of our northern neighbour... atleast 1sq of Su-57...

I 100% agree with you on this one...I think the best option might be to just take a risk and Put all the money on AMCA and Tejas.

The only option is to purchase 100 more Su30 with super Sukhoi configuration that could support IFA with trained pilots and easy adoption.

UPA version of Rafael deal would have saved us...18 off the shelf and 108 made in india

It's better to go for su-30, the production line is ready that cal churn out 12 jets per year.
Something is better than nothing

India should start manufacturing Su - 57 here. It will really boost the ecosystem in leaps.

You didn't cover the case of the Gripen E/F: they're promising faster delivery & setting up of local manufacturing. It's anybody's guess how well they will follow-through on that promise, though their performance in Brazil could provide an indicator. One additional advantage of the Gripen E/F is that it also uses the GE F414 engine, so at least we can have commonality there with Tejas Mk2/ TEDBF/ AMCA Mk1. I personally am in favour of twin-engine aircraft, whether imported or local (single engined ones will be insufficient against China), but if that's the only viable option under MRFA...
