So I was in a store today comparing these two washing machines, and I came to the conclusion that they were both equally good.

However, I noticed something that I wouldn't have if I hadn't looked at them before buying. It's a minor detail, but something that could be considered annoying. The LG models seem to be designed with stacking in mind, as the control panel is flat and easy to read when its above eye level. Whereas the GE control panel is slightly angled, which makes some of the settings hard to see without getting up on your tippy toes. A minor detail, but for shorter people who might have trouble seeing the controls in general since they are above eye level, it could be a problem.

One feature Kenmore offered on their dryers was the ability to move the control panel to the bottom of the unit if you stacked them. Why other brands don't have this is a mystery unless there are patents involved.

Great review, thank you. Do clothes come out of either of these washers wrinkled? Our Speed Queen front-load puts out wrinkled clothes. That means ironing or steaming since we don't dry all clothing.

LG is now unreliable. LG used to be a great brand because it "was" reliable. The LG washer dryers break and stop drying clothes, with observable decrease in performance over time meaning they don't wash as well as they do when new and get worse the older they get.

I think this is planned obsolescence so don't expect to get more than 3 years out of them. I have two LG front loaders in my house and have experienced problems with both, one is completely broken and flooded my laundry. At over $1000 each, buyer beware.

Reliability compare to what? MTBF is???? "More reliable" does not mean anything in reality. If one goes with a commercial front loader what is the reliable comparable? And no, I do not want, nor does anyone else want a damn washing machine ap on my phone.
