Let's put 3 minutes on the clock ;)
But I don't care, cause I learned something I really didn't know. Thanks!

Just a TIP for all of those who edit mostly on phones/tablets: Shoot always on sRGB (exept if your app can edit RAW, but in that case you'll use the color space specified by your RAW file), this is because all the apps for both android and iOS works only on sRGB (at least for the moment). I personally like to shoot RAW+JPeg (if you do, get a really fast memory so you don't have any kind of write speed problems), so I can transfer those jpegs in sRGB on my phone if I want to upload something on the fly, but I still get that RAW with all the bit depth and maximum color space that my camera can give me, to edit later on.

MISTAKE WARNING

Both AdobeRGB and sRGB are 8bit per color channel per pixel, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO RAW which is stored in 14bit in a different color space specific to the file format (eg CR2 for canon). You only need to start paying attention to color space once your Raw is converted/developed in lightroom/affinity/ps or whatever.

My 2 cents, I prefer shooting in Adobe RGB because when you jump into the Adobe suite of applications they work seamlessly and you have the extra flexibility in your colours and detail, I just export in Lightroom as sRGB.

Very useful to know! Would you be able to put up your earliest movie/project you worked on? Im new into the video making world and know I have a LONG way to go, so I always wonder where someone like you (awesome) started. I'll use it as motivation!

Hey Pete, I had this same issue before as well and did some research to find a solution. From what I understand, it's better to edit in Pro Photo RGB and then export (or convert to) sRGB once you're finished. The reasoning is that Pro Photo RGB has a wider "color space" (not sure if that is the right terminology) and you can get better results than you would if you were to be editing in sRGB the entire time. Just thought you should know!

Oh... well that explains why we shoot in Adobe RGB for college, most of our work will be printed for assignment. We've been learning about colour space and colour mixing but I didn't know that's what it was called, only that aRGB lets you play with 35% more tones than sRGB. Didn't know there was application related differences though. Thanks Peter!

This video really should mention that when shooting in RAW, you're getting all colour spaces. I think it's going to confuse some people without mentioning it, and that you're only 'shooting in sRGB' if your photos are direct jpegs.
