The tip of notching the carpenter's pencil to load the straightedge with graphite, was worth the price of admission. Thanks Blueberry and Gaius. Great info.

Love the videos and the information - one small thing I got a little kick out of - who thinks Starrett is known for their hole saws? I literally didn't even know Starrett made hole saws until she said that. Starrett is absolutely best known for their measuring tools.

Also, awesome tip regarding the notch in the pencil!

I've got my great x3 grandpa's chest of timber frame and finish tools. All I need is a slick. For some reason that's the chisel that's missing. I plan on using said tools. I agree with the "it's not work but more life therapy" There's something to be said about using technology from the past.

Gaius, how on earth do you manage to keep it serious with that happy bundle of joy standing next to you? 🤔😀 Great video and great tools. My favourite combination square is my 1970s Rabone & Chesterman No.1902 and made over here in England. It’s as true today as when I brought it back in 1976.

You guys don't have a tool website anymore? I have tried to go to it but get a screen with "site no longer exist. "

Great video, thanks a lot for the information. I'm building a shed in my backyard and like your informative videos. One remark though: I heard you say several times "it is a great tool because it is made in the USA". I don't mean to be rude, but that is hardly an argument that it is a good tool: I'm sure a lot of bad tools are manufactured in your country as well :-)
