Thanks, Walker, for this great explanation but I need to ask if it is a step backward if I still build the SCADA system for a new customer?

When selecting a target for a PoC, if the plant-level is too big of a target for the budget I have, is it OK to reduce the scope of the PoC by "walking" down the ISA-95 structure until the scope adjusts to my budget? In other words... If a PoC for the plant is too expensive, is it OK to target an Area of the plant, or a Line, or a Cell?

Is there a level where it becomes counterproductive because it is too small of a scope for the PoC? Hope the question makes sense.
Thank you for the great content!

I agree that the largest challenge to industry 4.0 is unifying the data in a defined information model and giving it context, which will then enable analytics

Thank you and I do enjoy your videos. The question that I have other than showing the architecture of the IIOT, what exactly are the full steps in details to migrate an old ver 3.0 to v4.0 slowly? How to prioritize the steps to reach the ultimate goal? Could you shed more details on moving and connecting the old v 3.0 legacy system to v4.0 in details with examples please?

Is there any gateway hardware required to connect a AB PLC to a MQTT broker ?

Thanks for sharing your perspective on IIoT architecture. That integration and (namespace) unification among existing systems and devices is one of the things that makes the difference between IIoT and a non-industrial IoT application. In the case where there is no existing IIoT infrastructure (sensors, PLCs, Fieldbuses), What would be your approach for designing and implementing an IIoT system, bottom-up or top-down?

Great explanation! this is in one facility, will it be more challenging when we scale it up in multi location operation? or just a copy paste process? Thank you

Doesn't the broker set itself up as a single point of failure? How can we set up a redundant broker?

Can you explain Digital Twin and IIOT in Infrastructure bussiness, such as integration with BIM!

Solution. Introducing, BigAssWellThoughtOutDB, a postgres fork, that’ll be 10k annually.

Thanks Walker. I’m a systems integrator and I specialize in layers 1 PLCs and layer 2 SCADA. I scratch the surface in the others. How can I get to the level of bringing all this together? One of my clients is a huge client and they want to go this direction.
