i have been saying this forever, JAY ADD TIME STAMPS AND CHAPTERS! you have SOOOO much good technical content for us to look back on, but flipping through the whole video when we are looking for one technical piece you talk about is a nightmare.

From a creator standpoint, the most valuable lesson I took away from all this is you are only as good as your team, and it's impossible to do everything alone. Such a sick collab, thanks guys!

As somebody who watches this channel, LTT, GN, Paul's Hardware, and Hardware Unboxed, each of you all add something unique to the tech space. I don't even need to agree with something, hearing what each channel has to say about something is worth taking the time to watch/listen. I love reviews because I can't afford to be in the space and keep current, while more tech stuff is just interesting. It's also fun to see these channels get together for stuff like this.

Steve’s an auditor, Jay is an entertainer by style. Both offer great content in their own way that we love.

One thing I do miss seeing on your channel Jay, is your hijinks videos. Using orange juice in an open loop to see how it compares to regular coolant. Duct taping an air conditioner to pieces of cardboard to blast a component and see what happens. The videos that come about spontaneously are very entertaining, and break up the monotony of discussions about overpriced gpus, which company is screwing over the consumer this time, etc. A few of these hijinks few a year would be awesome

Jay, I hope this doesn't come across in a bad way... your videos and content fill a certain space for me and Steve's fills a different space. One cannot replace the other... your approach is home/homelab facing and gives ideas for building and maintaining systems while evaluating product with a consumer focus. For me that is necessary and greatly appreciated. To be honest watching you make mistakes, you don't do that often, reassures me that this is a complex hobby. Steve's approach/content on the other end drills deeply, sometimes more than I can ingest in a single setting, into the engineering aspects of the products and development as well as the consumer protections that are necessary. Looking forward to 2025 content from both of you!!! Keep doing you and stay healthy!

I was a manufacturers rep in the gun business and sales MGR for a distribution company. The only thing I could do to make my company stand out is to add value. You are filling that role for the computer enthusiast. I'm 62 years old and you taught me how to build my own computer something I didn't think I could do. As long as you strive to add value you will always be successful. It seems to me that the Manufactures owe you a great deal because they would never have me as a customer if it wasn't for you. Good Luck JAY and Thank you.

Jay wants to evolve. I really respect that. People say, dont change this and dont do that. The man has a right to evolve. Respect that and enjoy the ride.

"Learning how to learn" is spot on! I dropped out of an electronic engineering degree, in part due to financial issues but also because I realised it wasn't what I wanted to spend my life doing, but the skills I gained in university allowed me to walk in to a support position with no IT related qualifications (although I had grown up around computers, both my parents are programmers!). Worked up from there and been in IT over 10 years now :)
I wouldn't be here without having learnt to find, qualify and present information properly.

Jay: Hey, so be brutally honest about my channel! Its all in good fun 😊

Steve: Well, actually Jay, that's what we came to talk to you about. You see, we've been conducting a multi-year investigation....

Jay: 😢

I think I’ll be mirroring a lot of similar comments, but I love watching both Steve and Jay for their different styles.
While I’m excited to see the new tests and graphs I really enjoy watching the videos of Jay trying a thing, I broke the thing, I fixed the thing. And the videos of just you building pc’s, what parts are still relevant etc. Those videos have helped me learn so much, from having never built a system to now doing complicated custom loops.
GN are great for learning the specifics and deep dive.

"People come to you, because they might not like me."

That is some incredible humility from Steve.

I agree with many of the comments, Jay. Your channel fills the space where we want someone to just grab an upgrade and implement it with plenty of Oopsies. We learn so much from watching you break things or mess up, then regroup and show us what the problem was, then fix it. We love watching you fiddle with things. It reminds me of fixing my car --there's technical instructions, then there's the video where the guy is actually doing the repair, and complaining that if they just moved one bolt a half-inch to the left the whole repair would be ten times easier. I love seeing if there is a shortcut, and what happens when you're actually doing it.

Honestly, I very much appreciate Jay's more laid back style of content. That's not a criticism of GN (or Jay) in any way, quite the opposite. Both channels have helped me make informed tech purchases over the years, which is especially relevant since I live on a country where sometimes even mid-end electronics can cost the price of a freaking car.
When there's a new product release I come to GN to hear all the specs and the minutiae beyond the BS the manufacturer claims. Then I come to Jay to know how much trouble I'll have actually installing and running the part.

Thanks. The collab I didn't know I needed.

I propose keeping Heaven and renaming it to the "Thanks Steve" benchmark

I've been watching JayzTwoCents for years and the fact that he has another big tech youtuber on his channel and asks for constructive criticism earned a sub. So many people are absorbed in their own egos and don't want to hear anyone's opinions/suggestions. This is how you show people that a community isn't just about yourself. So many young kids and even adults will take a lot of knowledge/insight into what it means to be great. Thanks for a great video without any ego, Jay!

TBF, when I want to know how great a cases airflow is, I go to Steve, when I want to know how easy a case is to build in, I check Jay's videos, so the differentiator needs to stay.

I love seeing this kind of collaboration! Documentation in general for processes is so incredibly helpful in anything science (I'm an engineer and neurobiologist by training.) Staying true to your voice while implementing some improvements will only help. Really great to see yall and GN having a nice discussion. Would love more of that content too

honest peer feedback and peer collaboration on improving testing and stuff like this will only drive the community forward as a whole. love to see this kind of collaboration.
