WOW!

I’ve had to take the last few years away from hunting due to medical battles, but my return in 2024 was rewarded with personal best whitetail, and mule deer bucks!

I was looking to have the done up by a local guy with beetles and go the bright white route, but now I’m trying to asses if I possess the patience for this!

I live with n Central Alberta so now have to wait until spring to dig holes and n my yard, but the colouring you achieved is absolutely medieval!

I love the color it gets from this process. I don’t much care for the bleached white skulls.

I planted my wife's 1st doe skull in our flower box for 10 months. Just got it out 2 weeks ago. I definitely like the lacquer idea and will be using it.

I’ve done this 4-5 times but only 6-7 months, never had roots, and I try to remove the hide and tongue to speed up the process. I paint them to look like metals, Bronze, brass, copper and steel. Thanks for sharing.

Such an amazing process. A little dirt don’t hurt after all. Super cool to watch!

Just planted my buck skull this morning behind the shed. Now the wait begins. Excited to see what the Louisiana weather and soil does to it.

Just a bit more information, depending on where you are located, small animals can and will chew on the rack.

I may try this with my next one. I like the quickness of cooking it off but this seems to keep things more in tact. Nice video!

I was told a long time ago to nose them into an ant hill. It works great as long as your not in a hurry. You just need to watch your head doesnt get drug off.

I'm in VA but on the Atlantic coast so we don't have the red clay. Just pulled out the buck skull I planted last November and those bugs picked it clean. Still got a nice dark color from the dirt though.

I’m doing this tomorrow, my husband got a buck this year hunting. I think I’ll bury it in a pine forest and see how it turns out in acid soil . Thank you for the video !
