I've always wanted to drive Route 66. We did a good portion of the route that goes through California earlier this year. Yes, it's a difficult route to follow because it has changed so much over the decades. It is such an iconic treasure though, it's worth the effort. We loved the Bottle Tree Ranch, and we stayed in the Wig Wam Motel in San Bernardino. That had been on my bucket list since I first saw the motel chain featured on a TV show many years ago. We hope travel the full length of Route 66 soon. Thanks for the tips!
