Tag Area of Filled Region in Revit

In this quick tip for Revit I will demonstrate how to create filled region tag, that displays the area of the filled region. There is no default tag for this purpose, so I show how to create one form scratch. The same tag will can be used to annotate the area of masking region. Because the default Detail Item Tag doesn’t enable you to create area label, there is trick how to do this.

Revit is a Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.

The video was created with the help of this free open source software:

OMG you are brilliant!!!! I've always hated that Revit doesn't let you tag areas of filled regions, especially for energy code compliance elevations. This workaround is genius, THANK YOU!

Awesome! Needed that for a long time and couldn't figure it out. Now I'm going to try to figure out how to make one that shows opaque and transparent areas of walls for energy calc.

Saved my day! Is it possible to delete the comma in the area? So it will be a whole number instead?

Awesome stuff! Thank you for posting. Quick follow up question, since we're tricking the system, do you have any suggestions on how to populate a schedule based on this tag?

How come your Revit look neat and clean ( like Archicad ).. Normally Revit look ugly coz of thick line drawing. Is it because of your screen resolution or Revit setting?

Odlehčeně řečeno tak jak to je v perexu jednoho webu: "Na všechno v Revitu je nějakej "workaround", ale musíme na něj teprve přijít". A neodlehčeně, to bych musel být vulgární.
