my mom borrowed my car today added around 2 gallons to it and then drove it to my house wich is under half a mile from where she filled up i didnt notice anything when she pulled it was running and didnt die. i have complete syphoned the tank using a 12v pump and now i will finish off the remainder with your process, my question tho is do you think the injector pumped will be damaged due to gasoline being more like a solvent?

Hey, just a quick question does anybody know how long to flush the hard line attached to the fuel rail I can’t tell anymore and also how do you keep it from going all over the damn engine

Thank you for the very helpful video! Is it possible to take it out directly from the fuel tank? Thanks

I am having this same problem RIGHT NOW! I have done as you've shown. I'm pretty sure I still have 5 gallons of gas in the fuel tank and am showing a quarter tank.

However the pump is literally pulling vapor. I am not getting any more fluid.

What do I do?

I can confirm that this method just worked to save a 2010 Mercedes GL350 BlueTec - my bug-out vehicle for Hurricane Florence! Thank you Chris! I also added 10 gallons of diesel to the tank after getting down to 1/8th and drained again to be on safe side, and replaced the fuel filter at the end. Can be tricky selecting the right fuel filter, make sure you check maintenance logs and get the exact part number that you need. It took a fair amount of time to empty the tank both times, slowing down towards the end. On my model I could hear the whine of the fuel pump from the cabin so I knew exactly when to cycle the ignition again (after whine goes away). I hooked a marine battery charger to the battery to keep it going.

Thank you very much for this video. Saved my butt when I pumped a little gasoline into the wife’s car.
The only problem I ran into is I couldn’t get the full 26 gallons out.
So I kept adding fuel and purging it. Thank you!!!!

Hey what's the hose size... and the two places you unscrewed to purge did you turn the key while they are unscrewed?

or suck it from the fuel tank, much quicker, saves drawing fuel though the fuel lines etc, saves you having to turn the ignition off on a hundred times.
