I have a R5 3600 and changing from the stock cooler to an AIO made a significant difference to performance (much better boosting to 4.2)

This cooler looks smaller then on my old 2600x... Also this one does not have cooper core that old one had. Kind of disappointed seeing they start to cheap out on small details and tech didn't even notice that. But guess their performance would not be too far apart anyways.

got a r5 3600 and i used the stock cooler for like 7 or 8 months before i replaced it with an NZXT kraken 120mm aoi. don't think it'll make to noticeable a difference but i know i have the cooling if i need it

Not including the cooler with the price increase reduces the CPU value. They should have kept the coolers. Also stock cooler designs has an advantage that it can also cool the motherboard’s VRMs. This is why I avoid tower coolers, VRMs overheating are bad and can cause instability.

Amd can save the cooler in a $300 cpu, is the same cooler than the 3200g includes and as you said spending 300 in a cpu you can spend 30 or 40 in a better cooler, so price of cpu could be $10 off with no cooler

I have a beautiful all white build just waiting for a 5600x. Out of stock everywhere and I refuse to pay scalpers on ebay. But, I'm patient, I can wait. I'll drop a temporary 3400G in there until I am able to get the right CPU and GPU. Gives me a chance to update the BIOS. Then the 3400G can go into my HTPC when I upgrade it.

Bought the 5600x today. The pricing for 5800x and 5900x is really crazy in Europe. Really need it only for gaming. I know its not the best option going forward but everything else is so damn expensive right now and I need a new pc.

I've installed this cpu with the stock fan. It DOES get loud during gaming and streaming. It works well enough without any overclocking imo. But I'll swap it for something quieter soon.

The RX 6800 xt just released and the performance is well, not that great compared to what AMD have promised us. Especially when it comes to raytracing performance. But RTX 3080 only has 10 G of vram, which is also not enough for the future title.
So, I think it would be a good option to build a pc with rx 5700 xt or rtx 2070 and r9 5900x. The cpu can last a lot longer than the gpu, so I will save some money for the next gen amd card with maturer raytracing feature or rtx 3080 ti when they drop down to normal prices .
Neither an rtx 3080 or rx 5800xt is good enough to last you long in my opinion if you want ray tracing or ultra texture for the next few years. At least upcoming cards will be more balanced I guess.

My Shadow Rock cooler for my 3800x is nice. It is super quiet and my cpu barely ever reachss 66 Celsius.

I have a 3600xt because in Austria the 3600 is 205€, the 3600x is 230€ and yes. The 3600xt is cheaper than the 3500x here. Ist 215€
