This experiment is to see the magnetic field around electric wire.

Materials : Toroidal transformer, 1000A CT & AC Ampere meter(optional), Thick Electric wire, Iron powder

Awesome! I've seen this classic image of iron filings around a single conductor in multiple physics text books, but never seen it done in real life.

Thank you for continuing to share very informative videos that demonstrate your great ingenuity. This demonstrates Ohm's Law very well along with magnetic field around wire. You're using a very big gauge low resistance wire to create a short circuit with very low voltage drop which becomes a very high current path. How accurate is your ammeter? Do you think you’re actually reaching 1000 amps? What is the smallest gauge wire that you think will still show magnetic field around it? Thumbs up!

Super experiment! Compass needle would align along the lines. N and S poles normaly attract, I think in case of straight wire N and S poles do not have a stable position around wire and can easily spin around the wire but the lines would not be moving, this is strange... Am I wrong?

How can we shield such magnetic field of the ac wire and lower the magnetic field radius of strength ?

Thomas Kim, Flip the plug for the primary coil outside the heavy black conductor loop, So you show that the power is coming from 120 Volt 60 Hertz source. Rather than using so much current, and heavy wires, use microscopes, fine powder, and look at the smaller but same magnetic fields around smaller wires and currents. Add $Thanks. Sir please tell me is there any way to remove induced magnetic field from wire after switching load ? So that amp meater wont show any readings or show very less reading
