I agree, things need to be calmed down-I'd also add though that the media, especially the print and online media (as cable news is typical cable news) must be thorough with their fact checking and not be deliberately misleading otherwise the story will now be dismissed by most

Its simple: stop reporting opinion pieces as factual news. There is a huge difference between qualitative assessments and quantitative reporting. We need to once more separate them. Don't eliminate them, there is a difference between an informed opinion and a casual one but make sure you don't conflate them or mix them into an informative piece.

He lost me at "never stop the inquiry". If he's talking about Russia collusion, there may well come a time to stop. If he's talking generically, as in the duty of journalism is to continue to inquire to power, then I have no argument with this statement. Precision is important in journalism.
